The 11 Ways Schools Use Social Media ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning.

I though this was quite  interesting especially the bit about how well schools are using social media. The link above has a bit more detail. It is quite interesting to see where the growth in technology use has been with schools. I wonder if the blogging usage has not change because of the restrictions put on by schools for student safety makes it more difficult to use and so is less engaging.

Great find, Anne. I find it interesting that use of discussion boards have remained the more or less the same, and I’m wondering if this is because the format seems (to me, anyway) to require more facilitation from teachers/lecturers, as opposed to Facebook, and increasingly, Twitter. These two mediums tend to feel a little more organic perhaps?

Hi Erin, It is interesting to note that blogging has also remained fairly constant. I wonder if this is because it may require more effort or thought than the 140 characters permitted on twitter. Perhaps this is just being cynical and their is merit in having to precis your comments.
